Lillian Caroline Giuliano, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, from natural causes, at St. John's United in Billings.
Lillian was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York. Her passion was books and she had a master's in library science. She spent her professional years as the Head Librarian for the Marlborough Public Library in Massachusetts. In addition to being a voracious reader, she loved nature, skiing, hiking and, most of all, traveling. Her travels included the Arctic circle, New Zealand and Australia. She went all over North America and loved a good road trip. She drove herself cross-country well into her 80s. She hiked in the Himalayas as well as the Andes and all through Europe. She traveled until just a year ago. She was always looking for her next adventure and wanted to go back to Hadrian's wall and Cornwall as her next trip. She loved the ocean and especially Cape Cod. She lived there for many years and volunteered at the National Sea Shore and the Audubon Society. She was a member of the Friends of the Library wherever she lived. She loved to eat seafood and that was what she missed the most when she moved to Billings.
She is survived by her four children, Dave, Michael, Don and Anne Giuliano. She had five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She served as a great inspiration for her family and she will be profoundly missed.
Funeral Services will be at the Ruby Burial Ground in Decatur, Tennessee, on Oct. 22.
In lieu of flowers, Lillian requested that memorials go to Defenders of Wildlife, WGBH.org or Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.
