We lost a wonderful, brave, strong and beautiful mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend on November 14, 2015. Lillian passed away at St. John's Nursing Home in Billings, Montana. She was 85 years old.
Lillian was born on June 4, 1929 in Glendive, Montana, the 5th of 10 children of John and Lucy Weyer of Wibaux, Montana. She graduated from Wibaux County High School where she met William A. Quale. They were later married on September 13, 1947.
Together they lived and worked on the Quale family farm before moving to Casper, Wyoming where she spent 17 years raising 4 children. The family moved to Billings, Montana where they owned and operated the Parkway Motel for 2 years, then moved to Hamilton, Montana where they purchased the City Center Motel.
After their youngest child left home, they moved back to Billings to be closer to family and retire. Of course for Mom, "retiring" meant managing Jan-Mar Apartments and working at Anthony's and 2 retail stores in the mall.
Mom was a very hard worker, loyal, trustworthy and always forgiving. Mom gave it all she had, all her life, no matter who or what it was for. You could always count on her to be there when you needed her most. Our mother will always be remembered by friends and family as one of the sweetest and kindest women they knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, parents John and Lucy, brothers Victor, Elmer, Sylvester, Floyd, Lorane, Bobbie and Raymond, her grandchild Ryan, and great grandchild Taylor.
Lillian is survived by her two sisters and their spouses, Jean and Roger Jacobsen and Inez and Don Parker; children and their spouses, Allen and Olga Quale, Burton Quale, Judy and Tom Madigan and Edna Martin. Lillian is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a few grand step-children too.
