Lois Morin, 99, of Billings, passed away on Dec. 15, 2016. An Open House Luncheon in honor of Lois' will be held in the Lodge Room at the Shrine Auditorium, 1125 Broadwater Ave., at 12 noon, Wednesday, April 26, which would have been her 100th birthday. Cremation has taken place and burial was held at Mountview Cemetery.

Lois Olga Hegg was born on April 26, 1917, in Broadview, to John “Jack” and Margie Hegg, the middle child in a brood of nine. Growing up in Broadview, she was better known as "Peachy," and what a peach she was! Lois attended school in Broadview, graduating in 1935 and was the last surviving member of the class of '35. After graduation, she attended business school in Billings. While in Broadview, she played basketball and was quite a little track star, but couldn't run fast enough and was caught by T. H. Schuster. They were married in 1938. They moved to Billings in 1945 and, in 1951, she began her career with the City of Billings, retiring after 30 years of service. She held the position as the City Clerk for the City of Billings under seven different mayors!

Mother was single for many years and busy raising two sons, but in 1981, she met and married Russell Morin. They enjoyed 17 wonderful years together before Russ passed away in 1998. The two of them were continually on the go: the east coast to see the leaves turn, Mexico to collect sea shells or Alaska to view the glaciers, and always spending time with their many friends.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Wayne Schuster and Ronald (Ginny) Schuster, both of Billings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, T.H. Schuster and Russell Morin; her parents; three brothers and five sisters.

Afterglow. I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done. Author Unknown.
