Lois Cam Ramsett was born on April 11, 1929, in Bemidji, Minn., to Floyd C. Cam and Katherine Linn Cam.

Lois graduated from the University of Minnesota on June 10, 1950, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing education. She worked part-time at Deaconess Hospital until she transferred to the St. Vincent Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in 1972. With only a year off in 1973 to travel throughout Europe, Lois stayed with St. Vincent until her retirement on Oct. 15, 1993.

Lois met Willard Ramsett while they were both in college, and they married on July 29, 1950. Together, they had two children: a son, Eric, and a daughter, Louise Ramsett Larsen.

Lois's interests included first her family and then nursing. As time permitted, she became active in community activities, including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, her church and the American Association of University Women, where she served as trustee for the Scholarship Endowment Fund and as the branch historian. She was also active in the PTA, and worked to get a stoplight installed at a busy corner by Grand Avenue School.

Lois and her husband Willard were always "best friends and great explorers." Besides their 1973 tour of Europe, they enjoyed a three-week tour of China in 1982 and, in 1990, they celebrated their 40th anniversary with a trip to Greece and Egypt.

She is survived by her children, Eric and Louise (Chad) Larsen; sisters Audrey (Myron) Busse, Vivian (Wesley) Lynn; brother-in-law Russell Wilson; grandchildren Brian Larsen, his wife Lynette and their children Jared, Ashley, Colin, Brooke and Nathan, Ivan Larsen, his wife Sofi and their children Sebastian and Megan, Shane Larsen, Todd Larsen and Katherine Larsen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard; and a sister, LaVisa Wilson.

Visitation will be 2-4pm Sunday, July 5, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at First Congregational United Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
