Lynette DeAnn (Gudmunson) Siroky, 59, of Billings, entered into a better place on Dec. 11, 2017, following an ongoing battle with cancer. First diagnosed in 2011, she fought the fight with strength and grace.

Lyn was born on April 28, 1958, in Watford City, North Dakota, to Wagner and Helen (Kirkman) Gudmunson. When she was a young girl, the family moved to California, where she was raised and educated before moving to Charlo, Montana, to join her sister Karen. Here she met the love of her life, Mitchell Siroky. Lyn and Mitch were married in Billings on Aug. 5, 1978. Lyn graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 1980 and received her CPA in 1995. She was proud of her achievement, but never practiced as an accountant. Rather, she was fortunate enough to begin her role as Mother! On Christmas Eve 1994, a little girl was placed in their home to spend Christmas. They fell in love with her and would officially adopt Megan in 1997. Their son Josh was born in 1996, completing the family.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lyn was a part of the Relief Society and the Young Women's Group and enjoyed her work with the youth. She loved the fellowship of her Wednesday Bowling League, which she did for many years. Megan and her family moved back to Billings in fall of 2016 to bring grandchildren closer to Lyn and Mitch. She loved the time with her grandchildren, even though they wore her out. She relished in the sound of their voices and laughter. Lyn also loved the beauty and wonderment of the National Parks, and would show family and friends the beauty of Yellowstone as often as she was able. Her legacy included making Christmas ornaments every year for her children, nieces and nephews. She would work throughout the year to create them all. Lyn loved the season on Christmas, so it's no wonder we will be celebrating her legacy and life during the season of Christmas.

Lyn is survived by her husband Mitchell; children Josh and Megan (Kevin) Rinnert and their children James, Jason, Jonathan, Marilyn, Hayden and Madilyn, all of Billings; her mother, Helen Gudmunson of Ogden, Utah; siblings Karen Fagan, Steve (Julie) Gudmunson, Andie Barth, Duane Gudmunson, DeVon Gudmunson and Michael Gudmunson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by father Wagner Gudmunson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the LDS Chapel at 2929 Belvedere Drive. Interment will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. The casket will be open one hour prior in the Relief Society Room at the chapel.

In respect of Lyn's wishes, rather than sending flowers, she requested memorials to the Cancer Research Department at the Billings Clinic Cancer Center.
