Magdalene F. Jacobs

Magdalene F. Jacobs passed away on March 7, 2019, of pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Maggie was born on Oct. 29, 1927, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Joseph and Magdalene (Keller) Diebert. She lived in Aberdeen and Glad Valley, South Dakota, prior to moving with her family to Billings in 1937. She worked as a Bell Telephone operator and substitute aide at EMC Handicap Center. She met the love of her life, Ronald L. "Bill" Jacobs, whom she married on June 18, 1947, and bore five children.

Maggie was an active member of Catholic Daughters and a longtime member of Little Flower Catholic Church. She enjoyed making flower cakes and money shirts. Maggie was the "heart" of her family, and her passion centered around her children and grandchildren, watching them grow and follow their dreams, spending many weekends camping, fishing and hunting in their youth. Bill and Maggie's door was always open to anyone and, if you met them once, you were a friend for life!

Maggie is survived by four children, son David (Rosella) Jacobs, Aurora, Colorado; Frances Snowden, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Daniel (Noi) Jacobs, Mountain Home, Idaho; and Darrel Jacobs, Gibbonsville, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sister Carol Cooney; sister-in-law Donna (Jack) Shannon; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Jacobs; daughter Susan Wilkerson; and sons-in-law Danny Snowden and Rod Wilkerson.

The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers at St. Johns Transitional Care and RiverStone Hospice House for their special care and compassion, and all who visited her during her last illness.

Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, and funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, both at Mary Queen of Peace, at 3411 Third Ave. S., with rite of committal at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary Queen of Peace, RiverStone Hospice or a charity of your choice.
