On Feb. 9, 2016, our mother walked into Jesus' open arms. She was born and raised in Kansas. Even though it was challenging at times, she loved the farm life. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, baking, sewing and making blankets for family and friends. She loved making "themed" blankets, such as patriotic, hunting or whatever her recipient enjoyed. She made great sacrifices to provide many opportunities to her children. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Francis Honas; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Alma Wiesner, John (Debbie) Wiesner, Bob (Mary) Wiesner, Mary (David) Metzger, Emily Larson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Helen, Norbert, Laureen and Stella.
Visitation and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Mary Queen of Peace/Little Flower, 3411 Third Ave. S.
