Margaret Elynne Barnes Anderson, 83, was born on Aug. 5, 1934, in Laramie, Wyoming, the second child to George and Winifred Barnes. She passed away with her family around her, letting her know it was time to go join her parents and brother in heaven.

Her big brother George was one of her favorite people in the world. She would follow him and his friends around the Barnes Wrecker Service, where they grew up. The wrecking yard was their playground. She had her own little Crossley that she would drive back and forth to school when she was 13.

Marge was married to Eugene Anderson in 1952. Marge and Gene had three children, Garry, Peggy and Robby, each 18 months apart.

Gene was in the road construction business, so they followed the work all around Wyoming. They moved 42 times before they settled in Billings in1965.

Marge was a great mom. The kids always came first in her book. They could do no wrong. At least no one else could say they did - only her.

After family, managing the house and yard was her main focus. In her free time, she loved sewing, crafting, making art, decorating, collecting, and antique shopping. She belonged to a county extension group, a stencil group and a genealogy group. She was always busy doing something with someone.

After retiring, Marge and Gene bought a motorhome and cruised the country. They enjoyed many trips four-wheeling and visiting friends and family.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother; and her grandson, Eric.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; her children, Garry (Rita) Anderson, Peggy (John) Prestrud, Rob Anderson; grandchildren Kori (Trevin) Dabney, Kati (Jonathan) Newsome, O'Ryan (Jessica) Anderson, Kellee Anderson, Walker Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Aubrey Anderson, Geoff Lund, Riley Anderson; and great-grandchildren McKenna, Logan and Cameron Dabney, Maggie Newsome, Melody Anderson, Addison and Aiden Lund.

We want to thank all of the Tender Nest staff for their wonderful care of Mom. We appreciate them letting the furry friends visit too.

Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Coffee and cookies to follow.
