The ravages of Multiple Sclerosis for 45 years and later dementia have finally won and Marian Janke passed away September 11, 2016 peacefully at her home with family. Marian was born to Irl and Marie Watson in Havre, MT. March 14, 1927 and has lived in Billings since 1955. Marian was an excellent homemaker for her family. She and Jim celebrated 68 years of marriage in May of this year. Marian was employed by Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroad in Missoula and in the Billings Regional office. Marian enjoyed traveling and visiting many countries. One of her most favorite pleasures was being seated upfront in a TWA 747 doing worldwide travels with husband Jim. Years of mining sapphires on the Yogo Dike area and rv snowbird traveling to the southern deserts created many friendships. She is survived by husband James Janke and daughters Jamie Janke and partner Max Kitch of Mesa, AZ and Joann Dean and her husband Warren of Solvang, CA. Marian’s sister Irline Morse resides in Missoula. Son James N Janke, Jr (Janks) predeceased her in 1993. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements and cremation has taken place. We are extending a sincere thank you to the personnel of Rocky Mountain Home Hospice for their excellent care of Marian. A family memorial will take place at a later date. Memorials are welcome at First Presbyterian Church, Billings, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Rocky Mountain Home Hospice and other charities.
