Marian Rose, 89, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at home of natural causes.
Marian Janice Geurkink was born July 8, 1927, in Forsyth, to Marion Geurkink and Beatrice Zent Geurkink. She lived in Hysham, graduating from high school in 1945. She attended Montana State College for two years.
She met the love of her life, Arthur Rose, and they were married in Cornell, Wis., on March 14,1949.
They lived in various cities in Montana while growing their family of five boys. They moved to Myers, Mont., in 1953 and owned the grocery store. In 1957, Marian went to work for Midland bank in Billings as a loan officer. She remained there through corporation changes until her retirement in 1988.
In her retirement, Marian loved to play bridge, read, entertain with her husband, travel and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a loving caregiver for her husband, sister and mother in their final years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Patricia; and her husband, Art.
She is survived by her loving sons Randy of Omaha, Neb. Rodney of Billings, Richard (Deb) of Worden, Robert of Billings and Rorie (Qian) of San Jose, Calif. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Marian's family would like to thank RiverStone Hospice for their care during her last few weeks, especially her nurses Daphne and Stacy.
Cremation has taken place. Vigil services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, at St. Pius X Church with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to RiverStone Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
