Marian (Walter) Staebler, 89 of Billings passed away Sunday morning in a peaceful sleep.

Marian was born July 11, 1922 to Fred and Lydia Walter. A tiny baby whose head fit in a tea cup, she was not expected to survive, but survive she did. Surviving cancer twice in her life she always seemed to have a positive attitude about life.

Marian met the love of her life Solly Staebler in 1938 and married in 1941 moving to Seattle during the war and back to Billings afterwards. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Solly in 2005 and her brother Ted Walter.

Marian is survived by her son SteveStaebler of Billings, daughter Carol (Mike) Fleming of Huntley; Grandchildren Curt(Jamie) Fleming, Craig Fleming & Keri Staebler; and great grandchildren Aiden & Kiersten Fleming all of Billings. She is also survived by her loving sister Marge Rufus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian and Solly were charter members of Peace Lutheran Church and Marians faith in God was always present with her. Her Bible had many passages marked as well as many articles and poems giving us a wealth of information of her past life. Marian had retired from Hart-Albin house wares Dept. after 20 years of dedicated service. Marian loved antiques and was always looking for them after retirement.

The family would like to thank Eagle Cliff Manor for their kindness the last few years and they found out what we have know for many years–Marian was known as the sweetest, kindest person you’d ever meet. A relative once stated –“If you can’t love Marian your probably not capable of Love.”

We Love you Mom–you had a wonderful life. Rest in Peace.

Services will be held at 10:00A.M., Thursday, July 21, at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation, Cancer Research Center or Charity of your choice.
