Marie Paulson Egge

Marie Egge Marie Paulson Egge, a Billings resident since 1948, died at age 93 on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. A Memorial Service will be held at the American Lutheran Church, 5 Lewis Ave. on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 10:00 AM.

Marie was born in Underwood, ND, the fourth child of Albert and Nellie Paulson on

June 5, 1913. Marie studied elementary education at Valley City State University, North Dakota, and the University of North Dakota. She married Peter Arthur (Art) Egge in 1937, whom she met at the University of North Dakota. She taught school both in North Dakota and in Billings.

She and Art moved to Billings where Art started a farm implement business. Art died in 1978.

Marie was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Billings for 58 years and a member of PEO. She enjoyed friends, reading, bridge, and traveling. At age 91 she moved into the kindly assisted living residence of St. John’s Lutheran Home in Billings. After her move, she continued to travel domestically through this past summer, spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors are her four children; Gladys Egge Henrikson of Virginia, Karl Egge of Minnesota, Peter Egge of Billings, and Marian Egge of Virginia, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Home, American Lutheran Church, or the charity of one's choice.
