On May 13, 2012, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend was called home by her Heavenly Father. She was a gentle, loving Christian woman, and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Marilyn was born on Dec. 29, 1929, to Harry I. Zachow and Zelia Breidung Zachow in Spokane, Wash. She spent her early years in Spokane and Spirit Lake, Idaho, graduate from Lewis and Clark High in Spokane.

Marilyn married James M. Simpson after high school in 1948. From this union, three children were born: Paul, Jacquelyn and Jerry. They later were divorced.

Marilyn married Stanley W. Hedrick in Billings on July 11, 1982, and made her home here.

Marilyn loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren flower gardening, playing cards, bowling, sewing and cooking fabulous meals for her friends and family.

Marilyn and Stanley loved their travels to New York, Alaska, North Pole, Australia, Lake Powell and their favorite, Flathead Lake. After Stanley's passing, she joined Global Grannies, and traveled to France, Canada, Branson and the Passion Play in South Dakota.

Marilyn was a very friendly, outgoing person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn is survived by Paul (Lu) Simpson of Polson, Jacquelyn (Jim) Sullivan of Billings and Jerry (Rita) Simpson of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Todd (Keri) Simpson and their children, Sydney and Mason of Boise, Idaho, Shanda Simpson of Missoula, Chris Simpson and Ryan Simpson of Glendale; two stepchildren, Judy (Bill) Arnold of Butte and Sheena (LeRoy) Lamach of Polson, and their children and grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Robert and Marvin Zachow; sisters Charlotte Carver and Joanne Zachow; and a stepson, Kenneth Hedrick.

Marilyn has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 18, at 10 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 2420 13th St. West.
