Marilyn Ryan Mahoney passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 13, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1936, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her parents were Dr. W.J. Ryan and Margaret Tottenhoff Ryan. She was Miss Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1956.

Marilyn married lifelong friend Don "Pat" Mahoney in 1958. They had grown up with each other and he surprised her with a proposal at a golf tournament in Saratoga, Wyoming. The couple moved to Billings just after they were married and made their life involved in the Billings community. Pat worked till retirement at Wells Fargo Bank. Marilyn was involved in the Junior League and served people and friends in the Billings community all her life. She was an avid golfer and played bridge because she loved the opportunity to be with friends.

Marilyn and Pat had two sons, Michael John Mahoney and Kevin Patrick Mahoney, whom she loved and was dedicated to. She supported her sons tirelessly in all their endeavors, from youth sports to careers and family in later life. Marilyn's dedication carried on with her grandchildren. She rarely missed a game and never missed a birthday.

Above all, the source of Marilyn's loving and serving attitude came from her devout faith in Jesus Christ. Marilyn and Pat were founding members at both St. Pius Parish and St. Thomas Parish in Billings.

Marilyn is loved and survived by her husband, Pat Mahoney; her sons, Michael Mahoney, Kevin Mahoney, and Mike's wife Pam. Her married grandchildren are Bethany Harpel, John Mahoney, Mary Dukes and Marshall Mahoney; and five great-grandchildren.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Drive.
