Marilyn Proctor, 68 of Billings, passed away at RiverStone Hospice Home on Sept. 5, 2019, following a brief illness. Marilyn was born on Feb. 28, 1951, to George and Laurene (Frogge) Logan in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was raised in the Bitterroot Valley along with her brother Doug, and graduated from Hamilton High School.
On Feb. 26, 1972, Marilyn was united in marriage to Ted Proctor in Hamilton. Together, they moved to Hardin, then Laurel and later Billings, where they have made their home. She graduated from Eastern Montana College with a double major in Liberal Arts and Communication. Following college, she worked as a teacher's aide in laurel and as an interior designer for a local furniture store. Marilyn was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. She served as church treasurer for many years and volunteered at the Reading Room and in various capacities as needed. But her most influential role was her work as a spiritual practitioner. Marilyn helped many people with her work in spiritual healing.
Marilyn and Ted were proud parents of Angela and Scott and she was a supportive and amazing mother. She provided them with guidance and love and raised them to be remarkable adults. She was so proud of them as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn cherished new life. She and Ted enjoyed drives to see the baby calves in the pastures and the baby ducks in the park. She was an avid reader and continued to learn throughout her life, but mostly she loved being with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Ted Proctor of Billings; daughter Angela (Mike) Wilson of Belgrade and their sons Joshua and Logan and great-grandsons Andrew, Eric and Liam; and son Scott Proctor of Billings and his daughter Grace; as well as brother Doug (Joni) Logan and special cousin Roberta Hardin of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation will take place and private family services will be held. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
