In loving memory of a wife, mother and friend.
Mary Rita (Shotzi) Boland passed away on March 17, 2016, at RiverStone Health Hospice.
She was born the last of eight children, on Nov. 27, 1931, to Grover Cleveland Kelly and Hellen J. Sullivan Kelly in Casper, Wyo.
She moved to Billings at the age of 21, where she met the love of her life, Floyd Boland. They were married on April 14, 1956, in Casper. Together, they had three children: Timothy M., Thomas P. and Tracy M. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family, so now that circle is complete.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd; sons Timothy and Thomas; daughter Tracy; and grandson Evan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many special friends and other relatives who all gave her many hours of comfort and joy, especially in the last years of her life.
Her husband Floyd, her three children and her grandson were very special to her. We spent many enjoyable times, trips, and get-togethers just enjoying the time spent together.
Mary Rita worked for several establishments in Billings as a bookkeeper. She was also a volunteer at the Alberta Bair Theater, where, at 1,000 hours of service, she received her name placed on a chair within the theater. She later earned her 1,500 hours of service pin.
She was loved very dearly by her family, relatives and friends and will be deeply missed.
"It is in dying that we are born to eternal life."
