Mary Margaret Thompson passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015. She was born on July 8, 1926 in Billings, Mt., and was the only child of Frank and Helen O’Neill. Mary graduated from Laurel High school in 1944. She worked at O M Wolds for 2 years after graduation and then was a homemaker the remainder of her life. Mary married Tom Thompson on May 7, 1946 and had 3 children: Pat (Carol) Thompson of Laurel, Eileen (Jason) Skillingberg of Colorado, and Margaret (Darrell) Aaby of Laurel.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel, sang in the choir and was a member of St. Agnes council. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Homemakers Club, square dancing club and was an election judge for many years. Mary was 100% Irish and proud of it.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son Pat. Mary is survived by 8 grandchildren: Christopher, Kelli, and Sari Thompson (Kenny Seymour), Jennifer (Chris) Zadel, Kelly (Brad) Nolan, Stefanie, Shawna and Pashence Aaby, 8 great grandchildren: Mason and Kyah Seymour, Devon and Rylan Zadel, Jackson and Skyler Nolan, Trinity Aaby, and Zavier Aaby, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rose and Chizzy Goddard of Columbus, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at Michelotti-Sawyers. The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Laurel, followed by burial in Laurel Cemetery.

We would like to thank the phenomenal staff at Sweetwater Retirement Center for their outstanding care of our Mom, where she lived for the past few years of her life. We would also like to thank RiverStone Hospice for their compassionate care they gave her in the final weeks of her life. Donations may be made in Mary's name to Rocky Mountain Hospice, National Kidney Foundation, or the American Heart Association.
