Molly Suzanne Barlow

Molly Suzanne Barlow passed away on Nov. 4, 2015. She was the daughter of "Woody" and Helen Sampson, born May 1, 1940, in Cody, Wyo. She was an only child.

Molly spent most of her childhood in Sheridan, Wyo., graduating with many honors from Sheridan High in 1958. She was an accomplished pianist. Molly studied the next four years in nursing college at the University of Wyoming, graduating as a registered nurse in 1962. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

On Sept. 1, 1962, Molly married Gillette, Wyo., native Bob Barlow. She worked as a nurse in Gillette for two years, during which time her sons Michael and Robert were born. She then dedicated her life to caring for her family and involving herself in community service. She taught youth fellowship at the Presbyterian Church. In 1970, she was named to the "Outstanding Young Women of America."

In 1973, she traveled with her family to East Africa, joining her husband Bob's love for travel, music, art and culture. While her husband Bob concentrated on his art career, Molly and Bob spent one year living in New York City. During this time, Molly pursued a master's degree in liberal arts. Bob and Molly also spent many winters in Santa Fe, N.M., and springs in Prague, Czech Republic, while Bob painted landscapes. In Santa Fe, they began a long love for dancing, which continued their entire life.

Molly especially loved music, art and books. She enjoyed attending Broadway musicals, art shows, book clubs or simply reading quietly at home. Her greatest joy in life, however, was that of being a grandmother. She loved her grandchildren with all her soul. She threw herself completely into giving unconditional love to John, Charley Jo and Teddy.

Molly had a servant's heart. She always made sure that frequent houseguests were doted upon. She was never without a kind word or smile.

Most importantly, Molly was a woman of faith. She spoke of her love of scripture and lived it out as best she could. She will be greatly missed by all. Everyone loved Molly.

Molly is survived by her husband, Bob, of 53 years of marriage; her sons, Mike and Bob, their wives Tracy and Cindy Barlow; her three grandchildren, John, Charley Jo and Teddy; and six step-grandchildren, Yardley, Wyatt and Beau Daigneau, and Zach, Ben and Nate Rogers.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church, 404 W. Brundage Lane, Sheridan, Wyo.
