“The dictionary defines the word ‘miss' as the following. ‘To notice an absence or loss of.' I’ve noticed, and I’m lost without you.”

Molly Montalban recently wrote these words to her dear cousin, Libby. No book's definition can capture the gap we feel in our lives without the phenomena known as Molly after her unexpected death in a car accident on October 6th, 2011.

Imagine Audrey Hepburn's timeless style, Elizabeth Taylor's classic beauty, and Lucille Ball's effervescent humor... You start to get a glimpse into the larger than life personality of Molly Montalban.

Born November 27th 1983, Molly Melissa charmed admirers with her sweet demeanor, beautiful olive skin, and chubby cheeks as a baby girl. She excelled in every sport she participated with natural ease and the quiet confidence of a born athlete on the tennis court, softball field, and basketball court. Watching “Swish” score three pointers brought deep pride to her mom and dad.

Many observing Molly's journey through life would have been struck by the uphill battles and challenging load but Molly Montalban always displayed an optimistic outlook even in the darkest moments. Molly's humor and hope shone through as an inspiration to everyone around her. In spite of so many hurdles, Molly dazzled everyone with her unbreakable spirit almost as much as her almond eyes. Some of Molly's proudest moments included being recognized at her high school graduation for the President's Award, sharing stories and photos from all her modeling shoots, and walking last May to receive her Human Resources degree in front of loving family and friends.

Molly will be forever missed by everyone lucky enough to have experienced the whirling dervish of her vibrant style.

She is preceded in death by her father/greatest fan, J. Cody Montalban and stepfather/ski buddy Harold (Sonny) Hicks, Jr. She will be mourned here on Earth by so many including her mother and loving supporter, Vicki Hicks, her sister/”womb mate” Halley Montalban, Molly's future brother-in-law Ian McDonald, sister/”Doydi” Joy Giovanini, big brother and football rival Jack Giovanini, adoring nephew Cooper and snuggling niece Madalena Giovanini. She had special relationships with so many family members including her grandparents Joseph and Cora Belle Montalban that she loved to visit at Whitefish Lake and the man she hoped would one day walk her down the aisle, her best friend and Uncle Donald Parnell Thompson.

Everyone has a favorite “Molly Story.” From her instant connection with young children to her approachable nature with the elderly, Molly won over legions of fans in every phase of her life. She was truly “One of a Kind” with a sharp wit and natural delivery of one-liners that always kept you guessing. It will be impossible to not think of Molly when watching the Broncos storm the field, hearing her favorite melodies ring out from a Rogers and Hammerstein musical, or opening that first can of black olives on Thanksgiving.

Molly's favorite quote, by Rita Hayworth, captures so much of her essence:”All I want is what everyone else wants, you know, to be loved.” Mugwumps, Aunt Mol Mol, Molly Golightly, Skip’s Mom, Swish, Moliday, Turkey, Hiawatha, Miss Molly, Womb Mate, Haun, Molls, May Day, Bad Ronald, Molly Woggs… You were loved.
