Myron J. Stratton, age 90, passed away on Feb. 15, 2018, in Billings.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Burial will be at a later date in Lewistown, where Myron will be laid to rest with his family.
Myron was born on Jan. 3, 1928, in Moore, Montana. He was one of seven siblings. He was the son of Myron Oscar Stratton and Blanche Marie (Blackman) Stratton. Myron attended two years of high school and then enlisted in the Navy in July of 1945 at the age of 17. Myron was honorably discharged as a Seaman Second Class in August of 1946. After leaving the Navy, Myron spent his time working for the Great Northern Railroad. He took a brief break from his job at the railroad to continue his higher education at Minot State University. After attending college, Myron was rehired by the railroad and worked for many years as a dispatcher along Montana's Hi-Line before retiring in 1992. Myron enjoyed traveling, as well as collecting trains and cars.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Myron O. and Blanche M. (Blackman) Stratton; his brothers, Donald E. Farrington, John L. Stratton; his sisters, Betty L. Laveen, Patty A. Goodan and Jeanette L. Stratton. He is survived by his sister, Barbara L. Nelson (Stratton) of Glasgow, her children, and many other special nieces, nephews and dear friends.
