Nelson C. Strecker was born on Sept. 1, 1938, the son of Sollie Strecker and Millie Ostermiller Strecker. He grew up in the Billings area with one sister, Shirley E. Fisher. After returning from Navy service, he got lucky and met the love of his life, Ann. C. Roller, and, together, they had three great daughters.

Nelson passed away on Oct. 31, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann; daughters Karen (Chuck) Henderson, Terri (Dave) Christianson, Julie Sullivan and Mike Sullivan; granddaughters Michelle (Bram), Erin (Jim) and Hailey; grandsons Ryan (Amanda), Adam and Logan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also has a special great-grandson, Camden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley.

Woodworking was a passion for Nels and he spent his life as a cabinet maker and carpenter, sometimes working for free. Dad will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his tender heart and will be dearly missed.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2055 Woody Drive.
