Nicholas L. Silva, 36, beloved father, brother and best friend to everyone, left this earth on Jan. 14, 2023, to go fishing in heaven with his “Mom and Dad,” friends and family lost over the years.
Nick was born on Aug. 6, 1986, to Emelia A Sanchez and Sylvester Vega in Gallup, New Mexico. He lived a full life, though short, with his two girls, Zoie and Elena. He truly loved his girls and tried to spend as much time as he could with them, fishing, shooting or playing games. Nick attended and graduated from Skyview High School, Class of 2005, and enjoyed fishing every weekend he could. If not, he was out shooting his guns. He always said a bad day of fishing was better than a good day at work. His laugh and charisma was contagious and knew how to light up a room by just walking in. He got along with just about everyone and he will surely be missed.
He leaves behind two daughters, Zoie and Elena; siblings, Dominic, Tabitha, JR, Sylvia and Rosita; and his Mother Emelia and stepmother Kathy. He will also meet his “Mom and Dad,” Vivian and Tony; brother Blas; along with cousin Amanda again in heaven.
Nick worked many jobs along the way, made many friends, but he found his family and home at the Vig for the last 10 years. He was always a hard worker and sometimes worked two, three and even four jobs at a time to provide a better life for his family. He did everything from janitor, cook, merchandiser at Pepsi to even cleaning windows on high rises.
A viewing will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Following cremation, services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Rocky Mountain Community Church, 2832 Broadwater Ave., followed by burial at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park, 3605 Grand Ave. A reception back at Rocky Mountain Community Church will be held afterwards.
Donations can be made on behalf of Nick’s daughters, Zoie and Elena, at Valley Credit Union and will be used to set up a trust. Flowers or arrangements can be sent to Rocky Mountain Community Church.
