Patricia "Patti" Ann Cleveland, 83, of Billings, passed Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019.
Patti was born to Emmet and Milly Monahan, Sept. 24, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After high school, she attended Valley City College and received a teacher's certificate at the age of 18. She taught in a one room school, grades first through seventh. She found her true passion as a draftsman and made a lifelong career first as geological draftsman for 35 years, then an AutoCAD mechanical draftsman. She married George "John" Cleveland Jr. and they had four children together.
She leaves as her legacy three children: Jon (Suzy) of Laurel, Michael (Gina) of Billings, Matthew (Karrie) of Billings. She also leaves to cherish in her memory eight grandchildren, Laurie Johnson, Chelsey Fake, Samantha Pratt, Taylor Cleveland, Karlie Cleveland, Casie Cleveland, Cole Cleveland and Jacob Cleveland; five great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Francis and John.
Patti loved crocheting blankets for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed painting landscape pictures, which are proudly displayed in many of her family's homes. If you took a picture somewhere in the mountains, you could take it to her and she would bring it to life on a canvas for you. Patti's dad was a baker in the family bakery, "Monahan's Creamy Crust Bread," and she inherited her father's talent of baking, especially pastries and bread. She was always asked to bring her rolls and, of course, the cinnamon rolls to family events, even though Mike always took them all! Her most cherished accomplishment was raising three wonderful boys.
She was preceded in death by Emmet (Father), Milly (Mother), and Tommy (Son). Tommy, it's now your turn to take care of Mom.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. A reception will follow at Mike & Gina Cleveland's home. Cremation has taken place. Her remains will be laid to rest next to her son Tommy at Mountview Cemetery this summer.
