Patricia M. (Haughey) Cosman

Patricia passed away on Feb. 9, 2015, at St. John's Hansen Cottage, at the age of 92. Patricia was born on March 13, 1922, in Dickinson, N.D., to Patrick and Kathryn Haughey. At age 10, she and her family moved to Billings, where she attended Fratt Memorial and Billings Senior High School.

In 1942, Patricia married Robert Knutson. Immediately following their marriage, Robert was inducted into the Army and they moved to Texas, where they served three years. Patricia worked a civilian job as a "Rosie the Riveter "on warplanes. Robert and Pat were married for 30 years until his death in 1973 at age 50. Robert and Patricia had a daughter, Mary Kay, and, eight years later, a son, James Robert. In 1979, Patricia married Elbert Cosman and she began a new life traveling the world, as Elbert was a member of a senior golf group with tournaments in several European countries. They were married for 26 years until Elbert's death in 2004. Patricia lived at Westpark Village in an independent apartment for the latter eight years of her life. She enjoyed her years there very much. She made many new friends, as well as meeting up with many old childhood friends there. She loved the staff at Westpark and the security she felt there. When Pat needed advanced care, she moved to St. John's, where she received excellent care in a faith-based facility. Her family thanks them for the caring attention she received the seven months she was there. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, her spouses, her son and a granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay, her son-in-law, Lance Dissel, their sons C. Kelton Dissel and Ryan Dissel, and her granddaughter Jean Knutson and grandson John Knutson, along with two nieces and a nephew. Interment alongside her husband Robert and son James has taken place at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial service will take place in May. Contact information for date and time is mkdissel@gmail.com.
