Patricia Ann Costello

Patricia Costello, 91, of Billings, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born on September 29, 1933, to Anthony and Patricia (Mimi) Ladd. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pat was 15 when her family moved to Billings. She attended Billings Central Catholic High School and graduated in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, John Joseph Costello on July 16, 1955 and were together 67 years until John passed aways on May 7th 2023. Together, they raised seven amazing children: Frank (Teresa), Jim (Karen), Susan (Wayne), Patrick (Jill), John (Jean), Kathy (Russ), and Thomas (Carol). They were blessed with 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Patricia spent her entire life raising her seven children. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crafting and her many trips to Hobby Lobby also known as the Hensh*t house by her husband. She also enjoyed all the Peanuts characters and her entire home was decorated with Snoopy and Woodstock. Her favorite meal was breakfast and she and John would go to breakfast almost daily to meet with their dearest friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the brightest lights of her life. She will be remembered for kind heart and always caring for her family.

Faith and family were priorities in Pat’s life. She was a devoted member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She lived out her faith and lead by example by instilling a love for God in her family.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband John, parents Anthony and Patricia; her brother Jim Ladd. She was also preceded in death by his son Patrick’s first wife, Susan; and daughter Kathy’s husband, Russ.

Services will be held at St. Thomas Church in Billings on Tuesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
