Patrick N. Redler, 76, of Billings, died peacefully and pain-free at his home on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017.

Pat was born on May 7, 1940, to Cyrus and Winifred (Phillips) Redler in Billings. After graduating from Central High School and, following his four years in the Army, he met and wed Anita Elings on May 28, 1966, in Conrad.

In 1966, Pat started pumping gas at an Enco gas station and worked his way up through Enco/Esso oil companies being combined into Exxon. Pat retired from Exxon in 1986 after 20 years of service as the Exxon Terminal Supervisor in Bozeman. In 1985, Pat received a congratulatory letter from Exxon for achieving 10 years of perfect attendance.

Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and trap club shooting. Pat started trapshooting before he retired in 1986 and continued for many years until he could no longer shoot in 2016. Pat won many trophies, belt buckles, pictures and plaques for placing in his individual and double shooting events. Pat's favorite pastime was his weekly breakfasts, lunches and Friday Fish Day with his friends or, as he would call them ... his family.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Ann Redler and ex-wife Anita Redler.

He is survived by his brother, Byron Redler; his daughter Pam (John) Rudolph; his son, Jason (Robin) Redler; and his grandchildren, Emily Huckins, Blake Raines, Abi and Carson Redler.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.

Donations may be made in Pat's honor to Huntley Trap Club at Niche Road, Huntley, MT 59037.

Special thanks to the young ladies in the Oncology Radiation department at Billings Clinic who treated my dad with such love and kindness. Dad hated the radiation treatments, but kept coming back for you ladies!

A very special thank you to Senior Independence Hospice for enabling me to help my dad die at home, peacefully, pain-free, not afraid and with hope, dignity and love!
