Paul Russell Reynolds, born February 3, 1954, passed peacefully from this world on April 11, 2015. Paul was a solid man. His beginnings in life started in and around Billings, Montana, of which he would always claim to be a "Billings Guy". He moved from Billings to Hardin with his mother Edna Mae during his later school days. He was always fond of Hardin and the lifelong friendships he established there during that time. Moving from Hardin, Paul finished high school in Roberts where he lived with his sister Kathy and brother in-law Ron Wolfe. Kathy and Ron always been lovingly influential on Paul.
During his transition to a better life in Roberts, Paul met and married his bride that has been by his side for 41+ years, Laurie DeVries. Shortly after marriage Paul began his career in construction material testing. This career would provide many adventures, good and bad, as all worthwhile life works will do. However, before too long into marriage and career, Paul, became a father, a solid father, to Aaron and then Wade. Family life and work dominated many years and a few locations along the way including; Billings, Colstrip, Laurel, Joliet and back to Billings. Paul's time was occupied in outdoor activities and work during his youth leaving his "game" unpolished (He would always tease about holding a record at Roberts High... the only senior on B-squad) however, he worked and studied diligently to become a solid youth athletics (baseball, soccer and wrestling) coach for his boys. Sports, including hunting and fishing, became a lifelong passion for Paul and he enjoyed sharing that passion with family and friends. He more recently had the joy of watching his oldest grandchild Alexis and his grandsons Elijah and Owen compete in many sporting events.
Paul's career in construction material testing began with a core group of quality individuals in a quality company, Northern Engineering and Testing. As his knowledge in the profession grew so did his contacts and people valuing the service he and co-workers provided. He became a recognized "go to" industry professional and co-established Rimrock Engineering, Inc. which continues to operate in the manner he held himself to and demanded of employees...quality service, establishing and holding to the highest standards of certification and accreditation staff and company can achieve.
Paul is at rest now and is survived by his loving wife Laurie; his son Wade (Kelly); his granddaughter Alexis Leffler; his grandsons Elijah, Owen and Cael Reynolds. He is also survived by his sister Kathy (Ron); brother Robert (Song) Birck; mother-in-law Mary DeVries; sister in-law Kathy (John) Stone; nephews Mike (Katie) Wolfe, Branden (Luz) DeVries, Cory Wolfe, Zach Wolfe, Joshua Birck; and nieces Tonya Wolfe, Tana (Kelly) O'Donnell, and Leah Gunnels.
Paul is preceded in death by his first born son Aaron (Amy); his mother Edna Mae; his father-in-law Art DeVries; and his brother-in-law Ron DeVries.
A funeral service will be held at the Roberts United Methodist Church in Roberts, Montana at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Burial to follow in the Roberts Cemetery.
