Raymond George Olson, 97, of Billings, died on Oct. 19, 2016, at the RiverStone Health Hospice Home.
Ray was born on March 8, 1919, in Scobey, to George and Lena Olson. He grew up on the family homestead in Scobey. Soon realizing his passion was for fixing things and figuring out how they work, he went to Coyne College and graduated with a degree as an electrical engineer. After working a few years for other companies, he opened his own company, named Electric Motor Co., which he had until he retired.
Ray served in the military as a technical sergeant in the 599th Air Engineering Squadron 383rd Air Service Group.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rachel of Billings; and double cousin Robert Olson and Doris Olson.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Wilson of Billings; grandson Christopher Wilson of Billings; granddaughters Rachel Cifuentes (Joe) of San Bernardino, Calif., and Jennifer Ko (Joon) of L.A.; nephews Bill Rask (Carla) and Ken Olson (Stacie); cousins Larry Veis (Sandy), Ted Olson (Sande); his five great-granddaughters, Ceara, McKenzie, Jacinda, Jolina and Rhema; and his special friend, Olga Rudolf.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., followed by burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Reception to follow at Casa Village Community Center, 14 Goldust Drive, off 24th and Monad.
