Renee Lynn (Schramm) Stone, age 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 11, 2023. Renee was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandma.

Born and raised in North Dakota, Renee was the oldest child of Lester and Virginia Schramm. A caregiver by nature, Renee graduated from nursing school in 1978, and went on to work many years as a Registered Nurse in the labor and delivery unit. In 1978, she married Jeff Stone. They were inseparable from that point forward and celebrated their 43rd anniversary this year. Renee often shared that being a mother was something she had always wanted. Their first daughter, Marnie, was born in 1979 and their second daughter, Katie, in 1981.

Renee’s family was her life. Being a faithful and compassionate mother and wife, and later a grandma, was her top priority. She worked tirelessly to care for her husband and children. Her husband, Jeff, credited her outstanding care for his recovery and health that allowed him to live many years beyond expectations following a motorcycle accident in 1995.

Renee’s daughters will forever cherish their fond memories of happy childhood with their mom and later the times she spent with her grandchildren. Growing up, she often reminded her daughters to live by the “Golden Rule” — do unto others as you’d want done unto you.

If you asked Renee what her favorite thing was, she would have answered without hesitation that being a grandma was the absolute best. She loved her grandkids with all of her heart. Playing with them, enjoying weeklong visits, and making sure they were plenty spoiled with gifts and their favorite things were of upmost most importance to her. In addition, Renee volunteered weekly at a local food pantry, absolutely loved plants and created stunning indoor gardens.

Renee is deeply loved and will be forever missed by the family that she leaves behind: Her two children Marnie (Emiliano) Flores and Katie (Paul) Goldammer; sister Tara (Schramm) Ray; grandchildren Ezekial (15), Ava (14), Yeshuah (13), Mia (11), Ashe (10), Isaac (7), Valentina (4), and Lenna (1); and eight nieces and nephews. As difficult as it is to say goodbye, Renee’s family finds peace knowing that she was reunited with family in heaven who preceded her in death: husband Jeff, parents Lester and Virginia, brother Tim Schramm, mother-in-law Dianne Stone, and her “little buddy” Samson.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be at 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Faith Chapel, 517 Shiloh Road in Billings.
