On Sunday, December 21st, 2008, our Lord called one of his angels home.

Richard R. "Rick" Chupp, 55, of Billings, passed away peacefully after a 5 ½ year battle with cancer.

On March 25, 1953, Rick was the last born and only son of William and Sylvia (Harrison) Chupp.

Rick was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed family camping trips, teaching his daughters and anyone who got close enough how to fish, and teaching his nephews how to hunt.

Rick had a wonderful sense of humor. One of his favorite things to do was pull pranks on and tell jokes to his friends and family.

Rick graduated from Billings Senior High in 1971. During high school , he began working for K-Mart and did so until moving on to Ryans Super Store where he worked for 25 years. His most recent and favorite job, thanks to his cousin Jeff Love, was driving a mail truck for the postal service until his cancer forced him to stop.

He fell in love and married Bobbi Jo Park in 1973. Three daughters were born to this union and he was a father figure to numerous nieces and nephews as well. His family was the light of his life. He lived to make them smile and his greatest joy was spending time with his five beautiful grandchildren.

He will be welcomed into heaven by his father William (Bill) Chupp, his father-in-law Ira "Chub" Park, nephews Harvey and Kevin Kinn, and one of his best friends, his grandma Elizabeth Harrison, along with many others.

He is survived by his devoted mother Sylvia; wife Bobbi Jo; daughters Ricki Jo (Justin) Ankeny, Carlee (Todd) Reinhardt, Sara (Andrew) McCarty; sisters Bev Kinn, Vicky (Ted) Rowland; grandchildren Brooklyn, Riley and Christian Ankeny, Maddison Reinhardt, Andrew H. McCarty, and a HUGE extended family.

You will be truly missed, Rick. We love you!

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.

I had the privilege of working with Rick for nearly 17 years at Ryans – Supervalu. He was a valued co-worker and a trusted friend. Chief among my memories of Rick was his love for Bobbi and his daughters. His eyes would always light up when talking about them. Our thoughts and prayers to all of Rick’s family. Be at peace, my brother. Paul Zeeck Boise, ID

God’s speed my old friend. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Rick. It has been many years since I talked to Rick. He and I worked at the K-Mart grocery store while we were in high school. We had many a fun time as teenagers. We would drive around in my car like most teenagers and listen to music and try our best to be cool after each Friday payday. My wife Bobbi and I were present to witness the marriage of Bobbi Jo and Rick. As teens, together we all some fun times like going to Cooney Dam, and hiking in the Beartooths. Rick was always a man with a big heart and character. It has been an honor to have been in his company. My blessings to his family and may God bless my old friend. Dana Jones

All our thoughts and prayers to Rick’s Family. My wife and I feel fortunate to have known him.
