Richard Dean Meyer was born in Waterloo, Iowa on Nov. 25, 1929, to William and Marie Meyer. Soon after he was born, they moved to Saginaw, Mich., where he was raised and lived for most of his life. Richard served in the U.S. Army in Korea before moving home and marrying the love of his life, Ann Schulz. They were married for 58 years and raised four children: Jean, Mike, Bill and Mark.
After Ann passed away in 2012, Richard moved to be with family in Billings. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing, which he continued to do with his son Mark until his final months.
His parents, four siblings, son Mike and his wife Ann along with many other friends and family were patiently awaiting his arrival in heaven on Dec. 14, 2016. He is survived by Jeanne Folkerts, Mark Meyer, William Meyer; daughter in-law Debbie Meyer and their children; as well as five great-grandchildren and several special nieces and their families.
Richard has been cremated, per his request.
Special thanks to St. John's and Billings Clinic for their outstanding care and compassion.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Ocee Johnson Chapel in Chapel Court at St. John's.
