Richard ‘Dick’ Sabe

Richard Jerome Sabe, age 81, passed away July 7, 2017, at Big Horn County Memorial Hospital in Hardin.

He was born May 2, 1936, in Ballantine, to Julius and Augusta Sabe. He was the youngest of eight children. On Nov. 6, 1962, he married Louise Davidson at St Mary's Catholic Church in Custer. Together, they raised two sons and a daughter.

Dad was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer. He had a strong faith and always told us kids to believe in God and treat people right. If you knew Dad, you would know he was a hard worker, always attempting to outwork anyone that was around. He taught many people how to set a good head of water using irrigation tubes. Many times, we kids had races to see who could set the most tubes. Usually, Donald won!

His parents, wife Louise, two brothers and four sisters preceded Dad in death. He is survived by one sister, Mary Quest of Forsyth; sons Richard of Custer, Donald of Billings; and daughter Karen (Rick) Kruger of Hardin; two grandchildren, Kyle (Mandi) Kruger of Hardin and Larissa Kruger of Billings; one great-grandchild, Karson Kruger of Hardin; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hardin. Interment of ashes will be performed at a later date.
