Robert "Bud" Wilson Dunham Jr. died on Sept. 29, 2018. Bud was born on May 22, 1944, to the late Wilson and Frances Dunham, in Anaconda.
Bud attended Billings Catholic schools, graduating from Billings Central High School. After graduation from Carroll College in 1966, he served in the United States Air Force. He then returned home in 1973 and went to work at his family business, Wilson Dunham Service.
In 1995, he married his sweetie and soul mate, Kathy Saunders, in an outdoor service at the marriage tree in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He had recently retired in April 2015, after many years of hard work in rain or shine. Bud was always willing to help anyone, and had a special sense of humor and wit. He was grateful for all the people he had met at the station over the years and the wonderful friendships he had made.
Bud's favorite activity was anything to do with golf. Hitting the greens with his golf buddies or going to the driving range with Stephen and Jessie. He loved watching the golf and sports channels, talking sports with Stephen and having a deep conversation with Jessie. Bud also enjoyed spending time with his family on their deck, barbecuing a good steak and having a cold beer after a hard day's work.
Bud is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 23 years; daughter Sheree (Sam) Painter; sons Matthew (Paula) and Andrew (Michelle) Dunham; grandchildren Emily Dunham, Stephen and Jessica Painter, Samantha Cormier, and Quinton and Adeline Dunham. Bud is also survived by two brothers, Lou (Susie) and Bill (Darla) Dunham; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Joyce Saunders of Columbus; Kathy's Aunt Donna and John of Billings, longtime friend and buddy Pat Jones of Billings; and many, many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; dear sister Mary Frances Dutton; son Scott Johnson; father-in-law Tommy Saunders; and dear friend Rudy Hernandez.
The family would like to thank Dr. Christianson of Frontier Cancer Center and Dr. Goulet of Billings Clinic and their staffs for all the care and kindness they showed Bud.
Bud was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend. His kind heart and loving personality will be missed and remembered by so many people. Our hearts are breaking, but we know that he is in heaven (surely finding a way to play golf!!).
We will miss and love you forever.
