Robert "Bob" Jacobson, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away early Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 2019. from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Bob was born May 1, 1931, in Sims, ND. He was the third of nine children born to Alice and James Jacobson. He grew up on the family farm in Sims, and attended High School in Almont, ND.

In June 1947, Bob met DeLoris Olson in Almont. She became his forever best friend. They were married in Miles City on July 29, 1949. They raised two children together and celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Bob spent most of his career in construction, including 32 years with Peter Kiewit Construction Company. Bob, DeLoris and their family moved many times throughout his career. Most of their time was spent in North and South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. In 1969, they made Billings their permanent home. Bob continued traveling for his job with PKS. In 1982, he became a Special Projects manager for the company. He traveled in and out of Atlanta, GA, for two years, and was also sent to Nevada, Arizona, and Alaska to prospect for gold and silver. On Dec. 31, 1984, he retired from PKS. Not one to sit still for very long, he found himself in the cattle ranching business for a number of years.

Bob was a good man. He was kindhearted, humble and proud. He would do just about anything for his family, friends and even those he barely knew. His family was everything to him. They were the most important part of his life. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Alecia and Jim Ragain; daughter-in-law, Dee Jacobson; five grandchildren, Jamie Stone, Jennifer Jacobson, Kelsey, Matt and Abbey Ragain; three great-grandchildren, Hawkins and Avary Stone, and Collins (Mac) Walsh. He is also survived by his two brothers, Wayne (Pearl) and Jerry (Judy); four sisters, Betty, Phyllis, Evie and Peggy; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, DeLoris; his son, Bob Jr; his grandson-in-law Toby; his parents; his brother Ed and sister Carrol; and four brothers-in-law.

The family would like to thank St. Johns United Hospice and the amazing staff at MorningStar Senior Living for their compassion, care and support.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary Chapel, 1001 Alderson Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's honor may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Montana.
