Robert G. Raymond, 87, died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, of natural causes.

Bob was born on Feb. 6, 1931, in Millboro, South Dakota. He was an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in civil engineering, and from the University of Minnesota with a master's degree in public health.

Upon graduation from college, he accepted a commission as an ensign in the United States Public Health Service. He retired in 1984 with the rank of captain, and was Assistant Area Director for Environmental Health and Engineering Programs in the Billings Area Office of the Indian Health Service.

He is survived by his wife, ElRita; his children, Teresa, Gail, Michael (Gayle) and Deborah (Edward); his grandchildren, Cecelia, Corey, Christian, Cassidy, Chanisse, Nicholas, Miles and Susanna; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Eva Mae, Wallace and great-grandchild Jayden; and a sister, Geraldine. Bob leaves many nieces and nephews in Nebraska, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Minnesota and North Dakota.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13,at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 119 N. 33rd St., Billings. Interment will be in the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel.
