It is with sadness and joy that we announce that Bobbi Ann Schenderline, Hebrew name, Sarah Jafit, Apsáalooke name Akbaleiliiwaapaakuleésh (Keeper of the Sacred Word), of Billings Montana fell asleep in the loving arms of Jesus after a many month's struggle with cancer. She was 58 years old.
Bobbi was born during the summer of 1966 in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Billings Montana. She gave birth to her only son Daniel Litzinger in 1985. Later, Bobbi and Daniel moved to her home on the Crow Indian Reservation, where she was adopted by loving parents Dan and Lonnie Jacobs and their son Lucas.
Bobbi's late auntie Roberta (Bea) Big Man, gave Bobbi her Crow name and taught her many of the Apsáalooke ways. Bobbi will always be remembered for her immense love of Jesus , the way in which she was always willing to help anyone who was in need (even if she had to go without), as well as her fierce loyalty for those she loved and her passion for justice. Bobbi worked hard in any job she had and especially loved being a lawyer, a restaurant owner, and a volunteer firefighter.
Bobbi enjoyed many activities, especially fishing, hiking, and camping at Crow Fair every year. Her most favorite thing was meeting with children and youth at the Wednesday and Sunday schools, the Friends Group, at the Youth Group of Crow Lutheran Ministry. At these times, she shared the love of Christ Jesus with them so they would know their Savior who washed them in His blood, to bring them to their heavenly Father in a good and pure way.
Bobbi is survived by her son Daniel Litzinger, her very close friend, Misty Timber, her natural brother Douglas Noach Benjamin Cohan and sister Ellie Clark Hill, her parents Dan and Lonnie Jacobs, her bother Lucas Jacobs, many of the Big Man family, especially her brother David Big Man and sisters Mary Rock and Sarah Hawk and their respective families as well as her Wolf Point adoptive family of Perry and Imogene Lilly. Bobbi had a large extended family and was greatly cherished by those who loved her. She has made quite an impression and we will miss her dearly.
