Ronald Lee Dombrovski, 74, passed away peacefully September 7, 2018, at his home. Ron was born January 15, 1944, in Elk River, Minnesota. After high school, he joined the Navy and served six years. He married Carol (Wedl) Dombrovski in Avon, Minnesota, on November 26, 1966. Ron and Carol have three boys, Mark, Michael and Matthew, who continue to reside in Billings. Ron decided he wanted to leave the big-city life and "move west." In November 1971, they moved to Billings, where Ron was the Vice President of Western State Bank. After several years, he decided to leave the banking industry, and Ron and Carol purchased the Gambles Store in the Heights. Years later, his career led him to the auto industry, starting with Frontier Chevrolet and retiring with Archie Cochrane Ford. If you knew Ron, you knew him to be a people person and excellent salesman. This was proven with yearly awards and recognition. He was a family man who loved his best friend and wife, Carol, and has greatly influenced his sons with his passion for the outdoors. He led by example and always let you know how much you were loved.
Ron was very involved in the community and was a lifetime member of the NRA, Billings Trap Club, American Trap Shooting Association and Montana State Trap Shooters Association. He was also a member of the VFW, Billings Rod & Gun Club, Knights of Columbus, Walleyes Unlimited, and was a former President of the Kiwanis Club.
