Ronald Girard, age 61, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his home in Billings following a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born in Glasgow on July 12, 1950. He attended Glasgow High School and graduated in 1969. Upon entry to Eastern Montana College in Billings, Ron received his draft number of 15. He subsequently enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in New Orleans, LA. Upon discharge he returned to Glasgow, MT where he was employed at Valley Motor Supply. He married the love of his life Kathleen Girard on August 19, 1978. They then moved to Billings, MT where he began his career with Car Quest. In his position as Regional Sales Manager he counted his collegues as true friends. He was with the company for over 25 years until his retirement due to illness.

Ron was at his happiest when golfing and fishing with friends. He had great memories of winter golf trips with the guys and fishing at Fort Peck. He was a devoted father and cherished the times with Bridget whether it was cheering her on during her games, skiing at Red Lodge, swimming at the lake, or golfing. He was an amazing Dad.

Ron loved to travel and was able to spend his 60th birthday in his favorite city with his favorite team. This summer he enjoyed attending the Riggin Family Reunion as well as the Glasgow High School Reunion. He was able to share laughter and memories with family and old school friends .

Ron was at his best surrounded by friends and family. He loved a good joke and will be remembered for his humor, hence the nickname G Ball, and his ability to make people smile. Ron was a loving husband and father, a devoted son and an incredible friend. His nieces and nephews will remember him as one cool Uncle. He will missed by everyone whose lives were touched just by knowing him.

A celebration of his life will be held later this month. In the summer Ron will be returning to one of his favorite places on earth, Fort Peck Lake.
