Ronald Louis Rutschke, 75, passed away peacefully August 18, 2011, with family by his side. Ron was born December 22, 1935, in Baker, Montana, the son of Henry and Rose (Kessler) Rutschke. He had two brothers, Raymond and Melvin and three sisters, Charlotte, MaryAnn and Judy. The family moved to Billings when he was a teenager.

On May 12, 1967, he married Geraldine Sharon Ostwalt. He was an auto body man and worked many years for Selover Buick. In their later years, Ron and Sharon moved to a small acreage at Boyd, Montana, where he got to do the things he liked most – a lot of fishing, enjoying his kitties and horses and restoring old cars. He was an accomplished left-hand lead guitar player and even recorded an LP at the Palm Beach Club in Laurel, Montana.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon of Boyd, a son from a previous marriage, Randy Rutschke (Georgia) of Meeteetse, Wyoming, two sisters, Charlotte of Billings and Judy of Phoenix, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

I hope the fishing is good in Heaven.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm Wednesday at East Gate Wesleyan Church, 625 Mattson Ln. with interment at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
