Rosaline “Rosie” Rice, 77, of Billings, beloved mother and devoted grandmother, passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at RiverStone Health Hospice Home, after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1945, in Reseburg Township of Wisconsin to the late Frank and Veronica Bielecki. She grew up on her family farm with her four siblings, George, Theresa, Tony and Willy, and attended country school. Rosie graduated from Thorp High School in 1964, alongside lifelong friends Ricky and Suzanne. She married James Rice on Dec. 17, 1966, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clark County, Wisconsin.

In 1983, the family moved with their four children to Dubois, Wyoming, where she was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. In 2006, she followed her youngest daughter to Powell, Wyoming, and again in 2012 to Billings, Montana. Rosie’s greatest joy in life was being a homemaker and raising her four children. She took great pride in watching them grow and succeed. Her other greatest joy was being part of her three grandchildren’s lives. Rosie enjoyed playing games, especially Yahtzee. She loved to cook and have family meals. Her favorite recipes will be shared and cherished by her family. Rosie was quiet and kind, she loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. She was always happy to see her family and always there for them.

Rosie is survived by her four children, William (Heather) Rice of Golden, Colorado, Tena Rice of Laramie, Wyoming, Thomas (Libby) Rice of Golden, Tanya (Brian) Bentley of Billings; and three grandchildren, Kayle Avery, Boden and Blake Bentley; along with brothers Tony Bielecki of Stanley, Wisconsin, and Willy Bielecki of Thorp, Wisconsin.

A family memorial will follow at a later date.
