Roy Ranger Olson Profile Photo

Roy was born on June 23, 1944, and left this world on April 12, 2019, at the age of 74. He lived most of his life in Billings and died in Aurora, Colorado, after being airlifted down to treat brain bleeding after having a stroke.

He was predeceased by his mother Echo, father Clarence, wife Marcella, sister Faith, brother Dallas and son Travis. He is survived by his sisters, Robin and Ione (husband Mike); his brother, Sage; his sons, Brandon, Chris and Zack; his daughter, CJ; his grandchildren, Monay, Monica and Genevieve.

Roy loved to work outside. One of his first jobs was working on a ranch, and he spent many years working as a landscaper. His last job was at Walmart in the hardware department. He made a positive impact on many of his coworkers and customers alike. He continued to work until he was hospitalized, with no intention of retiring.

He enjoyed people and made a positive impact on anyone lucky enough to meet him. He loved music, such as the Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd and many other bands. He always hosted a big 4th of July party and continued the tradition even after his wife passed away. He loved the diversity of people who would show up to enjoy the festivities. He was an amazing person who will be missed by many.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.
