Ruth Dunn

Ruth "Granny" Alice Dunn, 88, passed away suddenly at Billings Clinic on April 21,2012. Born in the small rural community of Loco, OK, on August 31, 1923, Ruth was the youngest of six children of John and Mary Bandy. Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Chester in 1940.

After WWII, Ruth and Chester moved to Montana with their three children Wesley, Sue, and Rebecca. Ruth retired from K-Mart. Granny and Chester spent their retirement keeping up with their 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ruth loved gardening; she could put a popsicle stick in the ground and make it grow. She had a particular knack for raising geraniums and African violets. Sweet but feisty, Granny was a pillar of strength for her family. She always did and always will keep watch over our family.

Her son Wesley; daughter Sue Carlson; and her parents and siblings preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of almost 72 years, Chester D. Dunn of Billings, MT and daughter Rebecca Foster of Aurora, CO; grandchildren Ronda (John) Carlson Ryan of Mars, PA, Jason (Ann) Foster of Fountain Hills, AZ, Shane (Selena) Carlson of Missoula, MT, Leslie (Alfred) Dunn Falcon of Billings, MT, Jon (Kate) Dunn of Bridger, MT; and 12 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services to be held, at 1:00pm, Friday April 27, 2012 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, in Billings. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Ruth's name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
