Sheri Lynn (Johnson) Nealy, 66, of Billings, went to her heavenly home on Friday, June 9, 2023, with family by her side after a brave battle with cancer. Sheri was born to the late Bobby “Bob” and Muriel “Babe” Johnson, Aug. 2, 1956, in Denver, Colorado. Sheri grew up in Wyoming and was known for her love of rodeo and barrel racing with her rodeo friends, who called her “Shorts.” Sheri graduated from Lovell High School in 1974 and was crowned Rodeo Queen. Sheri attended college at the University of Wyoming and later received a Cosmetology Degree in Laramie.

In 1986, Sheri met her beloved husband, Brad Nealy, and they later wed in September of 1988 and have three sons: Shawn, Shae and Sutton.

After the kids were born, Sheri started a successful salon business in their home in Billings and devoted hundreds of hours to her faithful clients. Sheri never officially retired from the business and cut hair for as long as she was able. She cherished the time she spent helping several of her dear clients look their best, as well as offering a comforting space to vent or visit.

For those who were blessed to know Sheri, they would agree she was a fierce Irish woman who was incredibly caring and generous. Sheri would always say “the gift is to the giver” and loved sharing the joy of bringing others flowers, treats and anything she thought someone would adore. She made the smallest accomplishments special for others and was a support for many.

Sheri opened her home to animals as well, and especially cared deeply for her dogs. Those dogs brought her joy and comfort, and were very special to her, and were, as she would always say, “spoiled rotten.”

Sheri was a woman with many passions and talents. She enjoyed side-by-siding and camping with her friends, hosting immaculate parties, event planning, bartending, yardwork, kickboxing, shopping at Ross and Gypsy Wind, dancing, being a personal stylist, and sharing the gospel with others, to name a few. She always believed in the motto “dress up and show up” and would rarely be seen without her hair and make-up done to perfection and an outfit that would match from head-to-toe.

Before her passing, Sheri expressed that she is going to miss her family and friends, as they meant so much to her. She loved being the person people could count on, and she had so much love to give. She was able to touch the lives of many in her short 66 years with us. Sheri found comfort in her faith and was a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. We know we will see her again for eternity in Heaven.

Sheri is predeceased by her parents, Bob and Babe Johnson; her grandparents, Gerald and Sarah Johnson. Sheri is survived by her husband, Brad; three sons, Shawn (Brooke), Shae (Jaime), Sutton (Breanda); her grandchildren, Ryan, Asher, Ethan and Cora; her mother, Sharon; her brother, Rob (Sarah); her brother, Jeff (Amy); her two nieces, Lacey and Summer; her nephew, Noah; her pets, Gracie and Bailey; and her grand-pups, Sully, Charlie, Roxie and Bentley; and many other family and friends.

For those who were touched by Sheri’s life, we invite you to a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at First Presbyterian Church of Billings.
