Shirley Ann (Berg) Harr

On February 3, 2018, Shirley Ann (Berg) Harr, our beloved wife, mother and friend to many, made her peaceful spiritual transition, with her family present. Her strong faith led her to know she will spend eternal life with God. Shirley Ann was born on February 9, 1928 in the home of her parents, Dick and Ann Berg of Swea City, Iowa. After graduation from high school she went to college to study nursing at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. It was while working at "County" that she met her future and beloved husband, Don Harr. The Chicago stay lasted until Don finished medical school and our family moved to Kansas City, Missouri for his internship and residency. Alison, Stephanie and Pam were born in Kansas City. We then struck out for Billings to settle. It was here that Brian was born and where we have lived since 1957.

Family life was busy with high points of camping in the mountains, skiing, trips to Iowa and Colorado to be with parents, school activities and time with friends. Shirley and Don's life as a couple involved camping, paddling rivers and lakes, sailing on oceans and flying to wonderful countries, in addition to many family activities. Our lives have been blessed with good health, good friends and a close relationship with our church.

Shirley was a member of Billings Jr. League, Chapter AN- PEO, Y.V.M. Auxiliary, bridge club (one started in 1958), was Parish Nurse for 20 years at First Presbyterian Church, and a member of a Tuesday AM class of Bible study at church.

She felt that this beautiful Montana, in which we live, was also uplifting daily...and that we all must take care of this beauty. Shirley believed in loving your neighbors, and she did. She cared for and cared about others. She always felt that throughout our lives we have been blessed with our loving family, treasured friends, and many loving relatives.

Shirley is survived by Alison (Paul) of Kalispell, MT, Stephanie of Soquel, CA, Pamela of Billings, MT and Brian (Misa) of Mukilteo, WA, beloved grandchildren Spencyr (Kolten), Grahm, Eli and Christopher and great grand-daughter Lynlee Jo Knatterud. Numerous nephews and nieces also had part of her heart, as did her many dear friends.

Services for Shirley are being held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Billings. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the First Presbyterian Church Foundation, 2420 13th St. W., Billings, or RiverStone Health Hospice Services at 123 S. 27th St., Billings.
