Shirley K. (Mienke) McLaughlin was born on Sept. 25, 1950, to Carl and Alice Mienke and was raised in Anaconda, Montana.

She became an LPN and resided and worked in Billings for many years. She married Skip McLaughlin in 1985 and they had many happy years together, hunting, fishing and canning big gardens. They also became experts at making sausages from their hunting successes. In 2005, they moved to Terry. Shirley moved back to Billings in 2020 and resided at Fisher Cottage at St. John’s United.

She passed away on Jan. 21, 2024.

She was preceded in death by Skip; her sister, Norma; and her parents.

She is survived by daughter, Tura Butcher and grandson Dominic; sister Dorothy Kindsfater; brother-in-law Dale Witzel. Also surviving are one niece, three nephews and many cousins and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Ocee Johnson Chapel on the St. John’s Campus. Reception to follow.

Donations can be made to American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Private burial has taken place.
