Shirley Marie (Haas) Schultz, born March 30, 1929, died on Jan. 10, 2019 in Bozeman. She was born in Friend, Nebraska, to John J. and Rose Kovar Haas, the sixth of seven children. After completing high school, Shirley taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Nebraska for a number of years. She married Clifford H. Schultz on June 25, 1950, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, where she remained a lifelong member.

After moving to Billings in 1971, she primarily taught second grade in the Billings Public Schools for over 20 years, mostly at Poly Drive Elementary School. She is survived by her three children, Duane (Lindy) Schultz, Jean (Bob) Snyder and Mark (Beth) Schultz; as well as nine grandchildren, Michael (Natasha) Snyder, Jennifer (Peter) RĂ©
