Tanya Renee (Guffey) Mocko, 45 of Billings, was taken from us all too soon on May 4, 2016, at Billings Clinic, from complications of Influenza B and pneumonia.
Tanya was born on Jan. 2, 1971, in Sidney, to Troy and Joyce Guffey. Tanya was raised in Savage, where she enjoyed her childhood and graduated from high school in 1990. She went to college in Denver, where she attended the dental assistant program. Although she never pursued that as a career, she enjoyed her time learning.
Shortly after finishing college, she moved to Billings. She married Jamie Mocko on April 24, 1993. They were blessed with three girls: Brooke, Kelsey and Taylor. They later divorced, but remained friends to raise their girls.
In 2002, Tanya met Jeff Eccles and they fell in love. She welcomed Jeff's daughter Adrianna Eccles into her family and loved her as her own. Tanya and Jeff had a great partnership in life and in raising the girls.
First and foremost, Tanya was a mother. But she also worked at various places in Billings until she found her true passion, caring for adults with developmental disabilities at Research Support and Development, where she worked alongside her daughter Brooke.
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, Kadyn and Aliyah. Although Alizae wasn't her biological granddaughter, she loved and cared for her as though she was. She was the glue that held her family together.
Everyone will remember Tanya for her loving and caring attitude and huge heart! She always has a smile to share and a kind word to give.
She is survived by her parents, Troy and Joyce Guffey of Savage; loving spouse and soul mate, Jeff Eccles; daughters Brooke Mocko (Brandyn Cochrane), Kelsey Mocko, Taylor Mocko (Bo Silvis); stepdaughter Adrianna Eccles; and grandchildren Kadyn and Aliyah, all of Billings. She is also survived by her sister, Terra (Bryon) Stanford of Savage and niece and nephews Shelby, Shay and Shad (Savana) Stanford of Savage; and numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.
A visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., as well as prior to the service. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, at First Lutheran Church in Savage.
