Tim Jerhoff passed away on Dec. 26, 2015, in Nevada City, Calif., at the age of 75, of complications related to throat cancer. Tim will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his dog Brody. Tim will be remembered for his great love of golf and other sports, his love of telling stories, and time spent with family and friends.
Tim was born in Fargo, N.D., in 1940, to Mike and June Koch Jerhoff, and grew up in South St. Paul, Minn. His family moved to Billings in 1949. He graduated from Billings High School in 1958, where he was student body president and attended the University of Montana, Missoula, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and played football. He received a degree in business administration in 1963 and an MBA from the University of Oregon in 1969.
Tim served in the Marine Reserves in 1963. He married Beverly Lutz that same year, and they had two children, Timothy and Michael Tyler. Tim was involved in a number of businesses throughout his career, including his own retail outlet, various sales positions and high school substitute teaching. He was an avid golfer and reader.
Tim married Diane Boyer Lindsay in 1976. After his marriage to Diane, his family expanded to include Diane's three children. Tim helped to create a welcoming, although sometimes chaotic, home for the five boys who will always share warm memories of summers filled with Mustangs baseball, outdoor grilling and road trips in Montana, among many other adventures.
Tim is survived by his wife, Diane Boyer Jerhoff; son Timothy and his wife Leah, grandchildren Madison and Austin of Calgary, Alberta; son Michael Tyler Jerhoff of Nanaimo, British Columbia; son Robbe Lindsay and his wife Staci, grandchildren Parker and Lauren of Missoula; son Stace Lindsay and his wife Lisa Ceremsak, grandchildren Abigail and Cameron of Cambridge, Mass.; brother Rob Jerhoff of Billings; brother Steve Jerhoff and his wife Ann of Nevada City, Calif.; brother Mike Jerhoff of Forsyth.
The family would also like to recognize the friendship and support provided to Tim by his life brother Harvey Young and his wife Gayle, especially during his recent battle with cancer.
Tim is preceded in death by both of his parents; his older brother, Michael; and his son, Jay.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 23, at American Lutheran Church.
