Timothy Jacob Davis ‘Tj’

Army Specialist Timothy Jacob Davis "TJ," 31, passed unexpectedly in his Billings home on May 22, 2016. After fighting a war abroad, he came home to fight his own war, a personal war with PTSD, but this time he's not coming home. TJ now joins the ranks of all our fallen veterans in heaven.

An Iraqi Freedom War veteran, he served as a Surveyor for 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. He was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.

TJ was born on Nov. 17, 1984, in Houston, to mother Trudy Cozzens and father David K Davis. He joined the Army on May 24, 2005. He was stationed in Schweinfurt TC, Germany and, while there, TJ sustained a service-related combat injury. After completing his term of service, TJ was awarded an honorable discharge.

TJ had a winning personality from the beginning; his sense of humor was one of his greatest attributes. He was loved and respected by many. He will be missed.

He is survived by his mother, Trudy Cozzens, stepfather Troy Cozzens and father David K Davis; his sister, Katina Uecker; his two brothers, David Davis II and Bradford Davis; grandparents Wayne and Barbara Premo; three nieces, Arianna, Alyia and Amilya Uecker; and three nephews, Charles, Ashton and Blake Davis; many aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents.

A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 1, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, with service immediately following. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, with full military honors. A 4 p.m. reception will follow at Community of Christ, 332 Griffin Drive.
