Tony Gustin passed away just short of his 90th birthday on Jan. 9, 2017. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

Tony was born on Jan. 26, 1927, in Flasher, N.D., to Frank and Anna Gustin (Yantzer). He attended school in Fallon, N.D., until he began working fulltime on the farm for his parents. Tony married Dorothy Keith on Oct. 22, 1947. Together, they moved to Elgin, N.D., where he worked for the Rural Electric Association as a lineman. They later moved to Circle and then to Great Falls, where he started in the sign business. He worked with the Knights of Columbus in Colorado for a short time. He returned to Montana and worked again in numerous positions within the sign business.

He retired in Billings in 1991, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and a good game of cards and 10000 with family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna; brothers, Jimmy and Dan; sisters, Betty (Morey), Clara (Joe), Johanna (Aloysius); and children, Irvin and Cindy.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Ken (Lynn), Sharon (Tom), Wayne (Brenda), Tim (Lori); 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger and Herm; sister Cordella; sisters-in-law Cecelia and Anisia.

Tony was always full of stories and enjoyed visiting with anybody he met.

Special thanks to all the wonderful neighbors and friends who came to visit and keep him company as well as the caregivers who he always loved to give a bad time to.

A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at St. Pius X Church, 717 18th St. West.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to St. Thomas Church for their remodeling fund, RiverStone Hospice or the Billings Food Bank.
